What Is A Fire & Smoke Sensor?
A fire & smoke sensor, as the name suggests, is a sensor that can detect smoke and fire. The smoke detector is always in active mode, so it always works whether the control panel is active or not.
The fire & smoke detector is incorporated with the control panel. It can be wireless as well as wired. It also requires a battery to operate. It also has an inbuilt siren and LED indicator whose function is different in different situations.
How Does It Work?
Whenever the smoke sensor detects smoke and fire, the siren will start ringing and it will share information with the control panel. The control panel will send a notification to the central monitoring station and also send a signal to the outdoor siren/external siren if installed and the siren, control panel, and fire & smoke detector will sound the alarm for a specified time until the alarm is canceled or for a pre-defined time.
Operators from the central monitoring station will inform the homeowner and local authorities and will also communicate with the customer/user until the problem is resolved.
